How eDPI Works

eDPI (Effective Dots Per Inch) is the industry-standard metric for comparing mouse sensitivity across different games. It accounts for both your mouse's hardware DPI and the in-game sensitivity multiplier.

The Formula

eDPI = Mouse DPI × In-Game Sensitivity

For example, if your mouse is set to 800 DPI and your Valorant sensitivity is 0.45, your eDPI is 360.0 (800 × 0.45). This single number represents your true aiming speed, regardless of what DPI or sensitivity values you use individually.

Why eDPI Matters

Two players can have identical aim feel with completely different settings. Player A might use 400 DPI at 1.8 sensitivity (eDPI 720), while Player B uses 1600 DPI at 0.45 (also eDPI 720). eDPI lets you compare and match sensitivity meaningfully.

Pro Player Range

Most Valorant pros play between eDPI 200–400. Fortnite pros typically range from eDPI 40–80 (due to their X/Y sensitivity system). CS2 players average around eDPI 600–900. Use these benchmarks to calibrate your own setup.

Game-Specific Notes

Fortnite uses separate X and Y sensitivity values — eDPI is calculated per axis. Overwatch 2 applies a 2× multiplier in its engine, so its raw sensitivity numbers appear higher. Aimly handles these conversions automatically.

Cross-Game Equivalents

Same eDPI, Different Games

At 360.0 eDPI, your equivalent sensitivity settings are:

Valorant: 0.45 @ 800 DPI
CS2: 0.45 @ 800 DPI
Fortnite: 4.5% X / 4.5% Y @ 800 DPI
Apex Legends: 0.45 @ 800 DPI
Overwatch 2: 0.90 @ 800 DPI
Warzone: 4.50 @ 800 DPI

Pro Comparison

How You Stack Up

TenZ (Valorant): 290.0 eDPI
Asuna (Valorant): 320.0 eDPI
Derke (Valorant): 315.0 eDPI
Boneless (Fortnite): 56.0 eDPI
Mongraal (Fortnite): 48.0 eDPI
s1mple (CS2): 318.0 eDPI

Your eDPI of 360.0 sits slightly above the Valorant pro average of ~308.0 — a medium-fast setting well-suited for precise tracking and controlled flicks.

Tips

Optimize Your Setup

• Keep raw mouse DPI at 400–1600 for optimal sensor precision

• Avoid Windows pointer speed adjustments — always use 6/11 with enhancement off

• When switching between games, adjust in-game sensitivity to maintain the same eDPI for consistent muscle memory

• Use Aimly's cross-game converter to find matching settings in seconds
